This very sad article was written by Sophia Tareen with The Associated Press. CHICAGO -- Minister Louis Farrakhan said in a letter to followers this month that he is seriously ill, and he asked the Nation of Islam's leaders to carry on in his absence to make sure the movement "will live long after I and we have gone." Farrakhan, 73, said he began suffering pain earlier this year similiar to 1998, when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and underwent surgery. He said doctors discovered an ulcer in his anal area during a visit to Cuba in March. Since then, he has dropped more than 20 pounds while battling "serious infection and inflammation," Farrakhan said in a letter dated Sept. 11 and published in the Nation of Islam's The Final Call newspaper. Officials at Howard University didn't return a phone call seeking comment on Farrakhan's condition. A man who answered the phone at the Nation of Islam headquarters in Chicago said the organization had no comment on Farrakhan's condition. Farrakhan said he will work hard to recover "because I do not believe my earthly work is done." He said he asked his executive board to solve problems during his recovery. Farrakhan liked his situtation to that of Fidel Castro, who temporarily relinquished power because of illness. "While many rejoiced_believing and thinking that if Fidel Castro and the Cuban Revolution expired they could move Cuba and the Revolution in a new direction_ his absence from the helm only proved that Cuba will not fall apart over the absence or passing of their illustrious leader, "Farrakhan wrote in the letter. He also warned followers to be "ever watchful for any smart, crooked deceiver and hypocrite who would create confusion over my present condition." Experts said Farrakhan's death could seriously alter the future of the group. "Through the organization's history, the death of a leader has meant a number of divisions," said Lawrence Mamiya, a professor of religion and Africana studies at Vassar College in Poughkeepisie, N.Y. "Whether members of the Nation will follow aboard is up for grabs." After the death of Nation leader Elijah Muhammad in 1975, the organization split. Since then there have been several smaller divisions. **************************** The Black Fist Organization would like to first and foremost extend our prayers and warm wishes for a speedy recover to our dear brother, the minister, Louis Farrakhan. We'd like to see him back on his feet, in full health and back at the helm of the Nation of Islam as soon as possible. FARRAKHAN SERIOUSLY ILL: GIVES UP DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS
Minister Louis Farrakhan, Nation of Islam leader.
Sorry, Nikki, but I just HAVE to ask...
ReplyDeleteIf he "dies," will it really be a faked death plot so he can climb on board the Mother Wheel with Fard and Elijah?
Those 16 perpetual youths will steer the magnificent ship until time for those three bombs to blow up all the white people, while the Mother Ship takes black people back to the moon, from whence they came...
You tell me Dean.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't think I have any pig genes in me, but one can never be certain... Maybe I am part of a nasty plot by Mr. Yakub, or whatever that guy's name was...
ReplyDeleteIn all seriousness, it's too bad that one of the country's noteworthy black leaders is a total nutjob lost in a crazy cult.
The only thing worse than the Nation of Islam are Mormons...
At least this weird Mother Wheel story has some originality. Points for creativity. The Mormons are ridiculous hacks, copying from the King James bible and crediting it to the angel Moron, I mean, Moroni.
Good. Maybe now the chickens will really come home to roost on his deceptive, conniving, murdering ass for setting up Malcolm, a real leader. Farrakhan's not worthy to wipe Malcolm's ass.
ReplyDeleteI realize that Farrakhan has many people that dislike his message. Although I have never agreed with his beliefs in their entirety I have to say that the man has done some good for Black people especially black males. I would like to remind people that where you live has a lot to do with the message you hear. For example when I lived in Florida on the national news circuit you would hear "selective" pieces of a speech he might have given but there were local channels on which you could watch his speech in its' entirety and many things that the national news stated Mr. Farrakhan had said were taken out of context...only a part of what he said was published or aired. I would also like to state that there were many young men that lived on the North side of Jacksonville, Florida who contributed their change in lifestyle to his teachings. Where they were once young delinquents they were now men who owned and operated their own businesses (legitimate businesses), had sought to further their education and basically put their wrong ways aside to live a more productive life for themselves and their families. Now not everyone will agree or should agree with Mr. Farrakhan's beliefs but I have seen with my own eyes the transformation of young men who no amount of lecturing, praying, incarceration, etc. could change and yet he was able to reach them and make them realize to behave in a manner less than a man was only hurting themselves.

Bet those young men never got a ride on that private jet or an invite to one of his three lavish mansions or wear 5,000 suits. He's a flim-flam man just like dozens of other slight of hand tricksters. Watch TBN and you'll find many more with exactly the same message. Be good and send me some money. Wake the fuck up.
