IRAQ WAR PRICE TAG: $12 BILLION EVERY MONTH
Though the killing in Iraq has slowed, the U.S. government is steadily pumping more and more money into the war, with $ 12 Billion per month in taxpayer money given to support the war in 2008, the war's sixth year.
Nobel Prize winning economist Joesph E. Stiglitz estimates that cost of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan combined could reach nearly $3 Trillion by the year 2017. Interest on money borrowed to pay for the wars could total $816 Billion.
Meanwhile, while no one has calculated the economic cost to Iraq in the war, this cost Millions of Iraqis there jobs, and hundreds of thousands of middle-class professionals and managers are now refugees in other countries.
