A story running all over the internet today seems to think our dear brother football star Terrell Owens has tried to commit suicide. More on this story later for my time is short this morning, but I will leave you with my immediate thought the moment I heard this story.... Attempted Suicide...Yeh Right!!! Since he has a contract that forbids him from taking drugs, and he was on drugs and had OD'd, it was either say he was depressed and tried to commit suicide or admit he's a dopefiend. Tight spot for an overindulged, spoiled millionaire used to avoiding the conseqences of his actions.
I saw his press conference on ESPN when they ran a part of it this evening and he looked just fine. I just hope he continues to heal so that he can get back in the game. And on a lighter note, thanks for the picture. He is absolutely *inspiring*....:)

So here we go. Whether it's AIDS, mental illness, homosexuality, or depression. Keep it in the closet. Don't admit it don't talk about it. Be ashamed of it. Suicide in the black community is rising just as fast as the AIDS rates, but to hear black people tell it, they don't commit suicide. Right, and all those people getting skinnier and dying young have cancer. Don't promote a message that people with depression or other emotional illnesses should hide it. It's a mistake and destructive.

1. The Black Fist as founded in 2000 by Generals Kabaka Oba and Nikki X remains.
2. The person mentioned in your question has no relevance to anything pertaining to The Black Fist.
Now would you like to comment on Terrell Owens' attempted suicide?
That is the topic of this discusion or did the person mentioned in your question forget to take its meds and decide to start back trolling this site again?

Your comments on mental illness in the black community has focused mosting on bi-polar disorder and you have ridiculed and made fun of that illness on multiple occasions on this blog. To imply that you are in any way sensitive to the plight of the mentally ill is, should I say, NUTS?

I too find your black community mental illness awareness blog entry contradictory to your statements regarding Joy Rolland. You frequently associate her behaviors by referencing bipolar disease. My daughter has treated bipolar disease and her behaviors and many others suffering from this disease are not similar to the person you reference. If you truly are interesting in helping all people better understand mental illness you will need to stop using any mental illness label to define another. The "word" bipolar does not define my daughter nor the majority of those suffering from it.
