CECIL THOMAS SAYS, HE SUPPORTED TIM RIORDAN AS A PERSONAL FAVOR

Well well well, we knew it would all come out sooner than later. The real reason Cincinnati City council member, the black man, Cecil Thomas supported the mayor's appointment of a fifth and final selection to the Banks Working Group, the whiteman, Timothy Riordan is because Riordan did Thomas a personal favor.

When [Thomas] was the executive director of the Cincinnati Human Relations Commission, then council woman and ego-maniac Alicia Reece was leading the charge to get Cecil's money stripped from him due to what she [Alicia] called "not having his papers in order". By the way, speaking of papers, Cecil is today sitting-in hosting on WDBZ "The Buzz" lite-weight implying the Cincinnati Empowerment Zone's paperwork may not be in order.....

But getting back to the Tim Riordan appointment by the black man, Mayor Mark Mallory. The mayor had a prime opportunity to appoint a black person to that panel of 4 white males [The Bannks Working Group] which will oversee (helluva word in this case isn't it?) a $ 700 million economic development project on the banks of the Ohio River down by the National Underground Railroad and Freedom Center (Yes black folks, I didn't just make that up) and with council member and forever Cincinnati police officer Cecil Thomas leading the fight to support the mayor in appointing this white man, Blacks in the community couldn't understand why a black man would appoint a whiteman to a panel that had 4 white males currently sitting on it and was supported 100% by another black man in doing so leaving a black population made up of 50% black people in the City of Cincinnati high and dry and out in the dark...AGAIN?!?

Hope I didn't lose y'all somewhere along the line...?

Bottom line: A caller called into "The Buzz 1230 am radio station and asked Cecil point blank:

"Why did you [Cecil] support the mayor's appointment of this whiteman to this panel when you & the mayor knew the community, for the sake of diversity needed a black person?"

Cecil Thomas said (in a nutshell), "Tim Riordan came to me some years ago and gave me a heads-up when I was the executive director of the Cincinnati Human Relations Commission and told me how to get my papers right [meaning save my ass] when some council member(s) [Alicia Reece]were coming after me messing with my funding."

The Buzz caller then said, "Oh so you mean you supported this whiteman because he did you a PERSONAL FAVOR! Not because it was what was best for the BLACK community as a whole!"

Cecil Thomas got to stuttering, stammering and trembling in the voice! He was caught! He outted himself live on the radio! And he knew it! It was just that simple!

But what's new about any of what I have written here today? Absolutely Nothing!!!

It happens everyday. Backdoor dealing. The black members of council trembling at the feet of their white council colleagues - PAST AND PRESENT COUNCILS. PERSONAL FAVORS EXCHANGED AT THE SAKE OF THE COMMUNITY/TAXPAYERS. Backroom economic racism/exclusion & secret handshakes constantly at play. THE BLACK NATION COMING IN LAST WHEN IT COMES TO THE MONEY AND FIRST WHEN IT COMES TO JUDICAL EXAMPLES!

3CDC SELECTS SMARTMONEY PRESIDENT FOR O-T-R

3CDC SELECTS DANSBY FOR JOB

The nonprofit development group charged with transforming the Over-The-Rhine into a viable mixed-income neighborhood has tapped Darrick Dansby, president of SmartMoney Community Services since since 2000, as its new development director for the neighborhood immediately north of downtown Cincinnati.

Dansby will take on his new assignment for the nonprofit Cincinnati Center City Development Corp., known for as 3CDC, July 31. The post is now held by Des Bracey, whose wife is being transferred out of town.

Dansby, a University of Cincinnati graduate, comes to the job well-acquainted with Over-The-Rhine. SmartMoney is an O-T-R based non-profit organization that provides financial services and economic education to neighborhood residents. He's an original member of 3CDC's Over-The-Rhine Working Group and, as such, has been involved in 3CDC's efforts from the beginning. He also chaired the economic development committee of the city's OTR Comprehensive Plan from 2000 until 2002.

One of his priorities will serve as a bridge between 3CDC and the Over-The-Rhine community and to "get the message out that 3CDC is working for the community" and not just promoting corporate business interests, he said.

An immediate task is completing the renovation of the former Bank Cafe building at 12th and Vine streets into 27 student housing units to be leased by the nearby Cincinnati Art Academy. The academy needs the housing by August, he said.

Beyond that he will continue the group's activities in the Washington Park area, where 3CDC has acquired numerous properties for redevelopment. It's now in the process of establishing planning principles with input from the community members to address issues such as the number and size of housing units, parking and income mix of residents.

Dansby said connections he's established in the neighborhood through SmartMoney will help in that effort.

What concerns us is the fact the appointment came from the big rich whiteman's 3CDC who has absolutely no interest in the neighborhoods particularly the BLACK and poor neighborhoods!

3CDC came down to City Hall and in a quick nutshell, begged and received monies designated for low-to-proverty stricken neighborhoods and gave it to the rich! That's how it all went down. 3CDC is the so-called "non-profit" in charge of handling the renovation of Fountain Square. General Nikki X was there. Front right center. The mayor [Charlie Luken] and the city council made up of then council members: John Cranley, Chris Monzel, LaKeta Cole, David Crowley, Pat DeWine, Jim Tarbell, Sam Malone, Alicia Reece and Christopher Smitherman, -ALL- rolled out the red carpet and welcomed these big rich white men, yielded, bowed-down and assisted them in robbing the poor to give to the rich. The rich being 3CDC!

Now comes this so-called redevelopment of properties in the Washington Park area to establish housing units, parking and the income mix of residents.

Our question becomes:

1. "What happens to the low-to-proverty stricken residents who already live there?"

And furthermore:

1. "What happens to the homeless NO-INCOME persons, men, women and children, who are currently in the Washington Park area?"

And finally:

1. "What will ultimately be the fate of the Drop-in Center, that the city's been trying to do away with for years. The city wants to put it so far out the people who REALLY NEED the facility won't be able to get to it?"

These are the questions we are concerned with. These questions have nothing to do with Mr. Dansby getting his new job. But everything to do with the HUMANITY OF THE POOR.

And everything to do with the City of Cincinnati once again (even under new so-called "leadership") favoring the RICH and saying the hell with the POOR!!! We beleive 3CDC is working for the community alright. The community of the RICH with federal monies designated for the POOR.

And we didn't say, The black poor -or- the white poor....We said THE POOR. PERIOD!!!

And that should make us all raise an eyebrow and start raising some questions!!!

3CDC IS NOTHING MORE THAN A BIG RICH WHITE CORPORATE BUSINESS IN THE BUSINESS OF GETTING RICHER & RICHER ON WHAT APPEARS TO BE THE BACKS OF THE POOR AND WITH THE BLESSINGS OF CINCINNATI CITY COUNCIL AND THE MAYOR ALL WITH DESIGNATED DOLLARS FEDERALLY REGULATED WITH THE DISTINCT PURPOSE OF CREATING HOUSING AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE LOW-TO-POOR PEOPLE IN THE CITY OF CINCINNATI IN POOR AND LOW-INCOME NEIGHBORHOODS!!!

SUMMER BREAK AT CINCINNATI CITY HALL

Cincinnati City Council is on summer break. The last meeting was this afternoon. It came right on time because we needed a break from them too.

CITY COUNCIL SAYS, YEH OK TO DOHONEY BUT PRAISES RAGER TO HIGH HEAVEN

Designated City Manager, Milton Dohoney Jr.

In a vote of 6-3 Cincinnati City council finally voted for Mayor Mark Mallory's pick for a new Cincinnati City Manager. Milton Dohoney Jr. is the new designated city manager relieving out going interim city manager David Rager of his duties effective August 2006. Actually David Rager was in that position way too long and had become way to comfortable. He had gotten so used to it, He wanted it for himself, permanently. Jim Tarbell & Leslie Ghiz knew this to be the case. They became the most vocal opponents of Dohoney's confirmation with Ghiz (in her most annoying nasal tone) doing her best to oppose and make the mayor look like an incompetent fool to the very end. She whined, "He just didn't knock my socks off." Both, Jim Tarbell, Leslie Ghiz and Jeff Berding voted NO. The other members of council basically in the end said, Yeh yeh whatever Ok to the black man. But woh is me, outgoing interim manager David Rager was the best we'd ever had....he's this that & a third....blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah....so forth and so on.....He's the greatest!!! Let's hear it for the boy & etc... Tarbell strongly suggested Dohoney keep Rager in some sort of position because of his excellence & his great almighty powerful skills as manager. Yeh ok Tarbell. Whatever. What nerve! Bottom line: That is what the whole controversy was really about anyway, Tarbell, Ghiz, Berding and Borz all wantedDavid Rager, the whiteman NOT Dohoney the black man. Especially in the face of the black mayor being the one who picked him. Two BLACK men in positions of power?!? They couldn't stand it. Institutional racism at one of its highest forms. With council woman Leslie Ghiz is so classless and tackless she couldn't even hide her apparent disgust at the idea or for that matter her disgust for the mayor himself!

TEEN FACING SEX CHARGES SENT HOME

A 16-year-old Lakota ninth-grader awaiting trial on gross sexual imposition after he allegedly stuck his hands down the pants of a female student was released from detention Tuesday.

The West Chester teen, arrested May 12, faces trial July 18 in Butler County Juvenile Court.

Judge Ronald Craft placed the boy on home incarceration, which means he is not allowed to leave the house; ordered him to stay away from the alleged victim; and banned the teen from Butler County.

The family recently moved and may be living in Hamilton County, Court Administrator Rob Clevenger said.

The alleged assault occurred April 19. But the 15-year-old Liberty Township girl reported it to school officials three weeks later, police said, after publicity about other sexual incidents at Lakota and assemblies encouraging students to speak out.

The incident occurred in a classroom at Lakota Freshman School while students were headed to lunch, West Chester police said.

Just what the hell is going on at Lakota High School? It appears these little white kids from privileged families have absolutely no control over their wild-out sex fiend kids!

How many nasty sex stories does this make just out of Lakota High school alone? The whiteman loves to phrase his words ever so gently when it comes to savage white kids participating in lewd sexual acts or flat-out murder. Oh but when it come to Black children in the media accused of the same alleged crime it's always; the lil black bastards done it we don't give a damn! With hardly ever an "alleged" thrown in for the sake of fairness/innocent until proven guilty.

White kids get to go home to their parents after sticking pencils up fellow classmates rectums with the assistance of other crazed white kids. No problemo. White boys get to chill at the pad after brutally raping white girls in the school bathrooms. No problemo. Oxycoton, heroin, cocaine, and meth being used by these white brats on a daily basis is probably the cause for most of these animalistic crimes but with white media and white school official cover-ups taking place on a daily basis, hell who really knows whatthe fuck is going on!?!

And the coverage given by the white-controlled media of these heinous vicious acts are just as downright disgusting, bias and criminal as the acts themselves.

I will in the near future devote an entire blog entry on the racial disparities in covering crimes by the white-controlled media and the scared-to-death knee-trembling knee-grow media. Oh yes, the so-called black press is sometimes even more pathetic than the white press because they are suppose to know the real deal! And they do [know the real deal] but are too damn afraid of whitey to call like they see it!

D-DAY FOR DOHONEY: THIRD TIMES THE CHARM...RIGHT?

This is the third time I've written about Milton Dohoney Jr. candidate for Cincinnati city manager. For two weeks straight, this racist wicked city has been buzzing about whether Dohoney should or should not be confirmed. Games have been played, the city council did nothing other than fight and backstab each other and the mayor acts as though vice-mayor Jim Tarbell is the mayor and he calls the shots.

At this point for real,who really gives a damn whether or not this man,Dohoney is the next city manager except the man himself.

Today is suppose to be the up or down vote. We'll see won't we?

Cincinnati City council's public speaking forum starts at 1:30 pm. The regularly scheduled meeting starts at 2:00 pm. The 2:00 pm meeting is televised, the public speaking portion is not.
Wasn't that another campaign promise by then mayoral candidate and state senator Mark L. Mallory, to look into the possibility of restoring the televised portion of the speakers forum which former council woman Alicia Reece took the LEAD in getting removed in the first place?

Let's all thank God she was finally removed. Nevertheless...

It's coming up on 7 months in office Mr. Mayor. And to my knowledge the mayors' never even raised that particular issue. Hhhmmmm, interesting wouldn't you say? But in all fairness if someone one out there knows something we don't, please fill us in.

"Has the mayor, Mark Mallory put forth any dialogue about restoring the televised portion of the speaker's forum?"

SUSPECT TURNS TASER ON OFFICER, POLICE SAY

A suspected shoplifter used a Cincinnati police officer's taser on the officer during a struggle, police say.

Darris Parks, 41, who lives at the Sycamore Hotel on Reading Road, is charged with theft, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.

Police pulled Parks over about 7:45 p.m. Saturday after he left the Family Dollar Store on Reading Road in Reading.

The officer noticed Park's pants bulging with merchandise and went to arrest him. A stuggle followed, and Parks grabbed the officer's taser and shocked him with it, police said.

THE BUZZ BEGS BLACK FOLKS ON SLAVE CENTERS BEHALF

I caught most of the 1230 AM WDBZ "The Buzz of Cincinnati" radio remote from The National Underground and Railroad Freedom Center on yesterday and wasn't surprised in the least bit at the begging and pleading from black folks at the buzz to black folks in the community to come down to the "freedom center" and voice their concerns about and then work in conjuction with the folks running this supposed building for negros on the riverfront.

The lightening-quick answer to why the national underclown free-dumb less center has no patrons is because there is an ongoing boycott of downtown Cincinnati and that center is financed by the white man, built by the white man and according to all accounts - uplifts and promotes the white man as some kind of savior to the poor black negro unfortunate enough to be a slave in America.

With reported gold framed pictures of Carl Lindner and Steve Reece hanging on the walls, we can see why a big percentage of black people in this city refuse to even spend a nickel in that slave center let alone actually encourage and assist in the promotion of others from outside the city to come on down! The free-dumb less center is failing by all accounts.

This slave center has been going under basically since the day Oprah Winfrey, Angela Bassett and all those big high rollers rolled up outta here after the grand opening back on August 23, 2004. Number one so-called Cincinnati big shot and pappy to political failure/crybaby David Pepper, John Pepper has taken over the slave center and it's been in financial straights ever since. Just imagine a German Nazi controlling, running and operating the daily functions of the National JEWISH underground freedom center? Nope didn't even think you could imagine that! So I'm sure those of you out there who can will understand why a free-thinking black person such as myself and others would be so disgusted at that slave center even being built in the name of black slaves (and current free-thinking black folk) but the white man is the one being hailed as a hero and the white man is the one running the show.

And with a so-called black talk radio station such as the buzz begging and pleading for black folk to just come on down and take a look. I'm definately not surprised this talk radio station would actually take 2 or so hours on-air, with a prior week-long promotion and giving away of free tickets to participate in the upliftment of this slave center. Nor am I surprised that the promotion & free tickets didn't work. We're told that building was just about as empty yesterday as it was before the buzz humvee rolled through there.

I wonder which big white man called what little black person at the buzz to demand they help get some knee-grows to break the boycottt and spend their hard-earned money to see the great white fathers and great white mothers rescue and save the poor pathetic black slaves...?

I wonder.

When will ex-council person Christopher Smitherman get over the fact he lost the Cincinnati City council race? When will this man stop blaming black folks for not voting for him? This man publicly supported the Latinos, the Appalachians, the Gays and the Lesbians but when he comes on his weekly radio show he is never blaming those groups for not voting for him. Only black folk.

Apparently, the Latinos, the Appalachians, the Gays and the Lesbians didn't vote for Mr. Smitherman either but it is reported he fails to repeatedly cry (or cry at all) about those lost votes. Only the lost black votes.

I assert to the black community what is obvious to everyone except Mr. Smitherman...that if black folk wanted you back on council, black folk would've voted for you.

The June 2006 tough talk coming from Christopher Smitherman about black folks needing to stand up and fight for their rights, boycotting this city and a whole host of "activism" type rhetoric is just that. R-H-E-T-O-R-I-C. Sounds good. It's uplifting. It makes ya' wanna shout. But really what's new? There are those of us who have been out here "holding the line" for years even before there was a Smitherman on council. So what's new today? The boycott of Cincinnati continues. No one to my knowledge has ever called it off. Actually it's on automatic. How? Just don't shop in downtown Cincinnati. How hard can that be? Black folk don't even need a councilman or a "leader" for that one.

Smitherman uses old Kabaka Oba audiotapes to convey what he is unwilling to say (in the public) himself because of his future run for Cincinnati City council in 2007. We think that's a shame because if a person gets on radio week after week as Smitherman does to incite & goad other folks to "stand up" then it is our belief that he (Smitherman) should be the first in line. I've said it before, I have no problem saying it again:

Christopher Smitherman is a private citizen now. He can travel right down to Cincinnati City council put in his yellow card, sit down, wait to be called and speak to the powers that be just as any other private citizen can. If he has an issue with the banks project, the Cincinnati Police Department, the loitering/homeless laws or any of the various issues he raises on his show then he should be encouraged to take the LEAD.

Using a dead man speaking the words to council that he is unwilling to speak to council himself UNLESS he is actually on council is in no way showing true leadership and a willingness to continue the fight for blacks that he screams other blacks should be showing. Quite frankly it is showing the black community just the opposite.

How do I know? Because the black community IS talking.

And I do not mind at all saying so. As a matter of fact, as someone who has fought for years in the streets, spoken out at council and stood up for the black community as a whole without a political anything in front of my name or a back room check being cut in my name, I find what Mr. Smitherman is saying as belittling and insulting to the intellect of black people within the sound of his voice.

Former council member Smitherman's air of superiority and arrogance impresses no one other than himself. How do I know? Because the black community IS talking about that too.

So what is this really all about? The salvation and liberation of the black nation as a whole? -OR- Christopher Smitherman for Council 2007?

Smitherman says, "Black people need to start being politically sophisticated and start seeing through the games these politicians play."

General Nikki X and those of like mind, "Couldn't agree more!"

SHERIFF BLAST DEWINE OVER JAIL

Hamilton County Sheriff Simon Leis Jr. blasted Commissioner Pat DeWine in a scathing letter Thursday for what Leis called an "unrealistic and unacceptable" DeWine plan to build a new jail. "Your position is yet another of the backward steps I have experienced over the years which have delayed the construction of this much-needed (jail)," Leis wrote to DeWine.

For more than a decade, Leis has been pushing for a new jail. Now, his department is releasing inmates early and not admitting others because of overcrowding at the Justcie Center and the 2,274-bed Hamilton County jail system. Hamilton County also is paying $65 per day to house up to 200 of its inmates at the Butler County jail.

In January, a county consultant recommended Hamilton County build a new 1,800-bed, $225 million jail. That recommendation also called for the closing of three other jail facilities, including the 100-year-old, 822-bed Queensgate.

DeWine's proposal called for building a smaller jail and continuing to use the existing facilities - but not requiring a tax increase. DeWine also said he would not support a jail funding proposal by fellow Republican Phil Heimlich.

DeWine's announcement killed - at least for now - Hemlich's proposal that Hamilton County increase its sales tax by a quarter-cent - to 6.75 percent - over 20 years to pay for the jail and fund a property tax reduction over that time.

Leis' letter suggest DeWine wants to form a commission to study the January consultant recommendation for the 1,800-bed jail. "A review commission such as this makes no sense at all; they would not only have the expertise but it would be nothing more than a study upon a study," Leis wrote.

"You are the only person who questions the 1,800-bed facility recommendation, which flies in the face of your own expert."

Leis, who volunteered to be one of the three co-chairs of the campaign to increase the sales tax to pay for a new jail, hasn't returned calls seeking comments on DeWine's proposal - and didn't again this morning.

I will say this upfront, I couldn't stop laughing at the fact Sheriff Simon Leis called Pat DeWine "backward". I've attended plenty of Cincinnati City council meetings (when DeWine was a council person) and Hamilton County Commissioner meetings over the years and I can honestly say the Sheriff is 100% absolutely correct in his analyses!

MARSHAL SHOT; LOCAL MAN SOUGHT - BY WILLIAM A. WEATHERS - ENQUIRER STAFF WRITER

The former Cincinnati man sought in the shooting of a deputy U.S. Marshal Thursday night was released from prison in 2005 after serving time on felonious assault and drug possession charges here. Authorities said the marshal was attempting to arrest Alexander Hopkins in Columbus on a warrant for a parole violation regarding the Cincinnati charges.

Hopkins, formerly of Regent Avenue in Bond Hill, was released from the Southeastern Correctional Institution in Lancaster in June of 2005, according to Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction records. Following his release, he was placed on five years supervision beginning in December 2005.

Marshals confronted Hopkins while he was in a car in the driveway of his apartment building on Yorkland Road on Columbus' Far East Side about 7:30 p.m., authorities said. Hopkins fired a shot, hitting a marshal in the arm, and fled on foot, authorities said.

The wounded marshal was reported in stable condition.

Hopkins is still at large.

Police were notified Wednesday that Tanika Lawson, 31, and her 9-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son had been staying at a shelter in Los Angeles. Lawson was taken into custody by Los Angeles authorities for a psychiatric evaluation. The two children have been placed with a children's service agency pending their release to relatives. The children's grandmother plans to travel to Los Angeles. Lawson - who relatives said had not been taking her medication - and her children were last seen June 3 getting into a taxicab at their Clinton Springs Avenue apartment, police said. Police said Lawson had threatened to harm herself and the children if approached by authorities. D-DAY FOR DOHONEY...AGAIN

For whatever it's worth, today is the so-called big vote of whether or not Cincinnati city council will confirm or reject the mayor's choice for a new Cincinnati city manager.

There's been alot of hoopla of this man, Milton Dohoney Jr. over the last few weeks and today will will see whether or not the likes of council persons Leslie Ghiz, Jeff Berding, Chris Bortz, vice-mayor Jim Tarbell and Y. LaKeta Cole vote in favor of the mayor's choice or participate in undermining his strong-mayors authority.

Either way it doesn't matter to us here because we know racism and flat-out discrimination happens everyday within the various departments of the city of cincinnati government. It most certainly happens everyday on the streets of Cincinnati. And from the reports The Black Fist have received from our brothers and sisters in the the struggle (activism) in Lexington and Covington, Kentucky, this black man Milton Dohoney Jr. is no-good for blacks anyway. The blacks in Lexington and Covington found that out the hard way when black men were being killed by those two police organizations unjustifiably. We are told, Dohoney did nothing but side with the police, block for the city and fought against justice, fairness and prison for police who kill black men unjustifiably. (Which by the way, the latter happens to be the battle cry/motto of this organizaton)

It's typical Cincinnati where there can be so much whining and crying from white council members about this black man Dohoney being nominated by the black man Mark Mallory for a city managers position but absolute silence about this same black mayor appointed a white man, Tim Riordan, to what is now known as The Banks Working Group.

When it's M-O-N-E-Y we hear absolutely nothing from the Tarbells, the Bortzs, the Berdings, the Ghizs or the Coles. It's 100% A Ok with them that 5 white males sit on a panel that will control a $700 million project and the population of this city is 50% black. We hear not a peep.

So in the big scheme of things this is nothing more than a big scheme. Make big noise about the black man, Dohoney for city manager `ala the mayor, the black man Mark Mallory. Make NO noise about the final selection of the white man, Riordan to a multi-million dollar ecomonic development plan `ala the mayor, the black man, Mark Mallory. Do you see anything wrong with this picture folks?

We're told that on his weekly radio show former council person, Christopher Smitherman, proclaimed he "will meet Mayor Mark Mallory at the gate" when it pertains to the issues of fairness and justice particularly the issues of economic fairness.

Interesting. Maybe the black community, it is reported, Christopher Smitherman made this big booming "proclamation" to on the radio will finally get the opportunity to see and hear Mr. Smitherman live and in person speak those same firey words to the body of Cincinnati city council and the mayor himself. It is reported he replays city council audiotapes on his radio show every week then gives "expert commentary" on what council did or did not do in the best interest of black folks. We're told he replays one speaker from the speakers forum NOT televised on citicable for the public to see and that speaker of course is his hero, the late Kabaka Oba. Maybe this week it would better service the community if he replayed his own voice speaking out as The Black Fist & Oba did on behalf of the black community. Mr. Smitherman is a private citizen now. He's one of us.

I'm sure of all you await this highly anticipated moment with baited breath.

Oba-killing suspect wants wider self-defense view

Howard Beatty's already unusual murder case keeps getting stranger. Attorneys on both sides have waged a legal battle in recent weeks that includes a request to expand Ohio law, a reference to the medieval "doctrine of sanctuary" and a debate over the role of cars in modern society. The issue is whether Beatty, accused of killing community activist Kabaka Oba, can claim he acted in self-defense.

Police say Beatty shot Oba to death April 12 as Oba sat in his car across the street from City Hall.

Beatty's attorneys asked a judge last month to expand Ohio's definition of self-defense so people no longer have a duty to retreat from danger if they are in their cars. They say Beatty had a right to protect himself with lethal force if he felt threatened by Oba.

Prosecutors riduculed that argument in a response last week in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court.

Ken Lawson, Beatty's lawyer, argued last month that the law should regard cars the same as it regards homes - as a place people have a right to defend with lethal force.

He said cars today are more expensive and more like homes than ever before.

Assistant Prosecutor Mark Piepmeier said that description does not apply to the "$250 clunker with obscured license plates" Beatty was driving the day of the shooting. "The defendant's position stands both law and common sense on end," he wrote.

"If the defendant fled to the nearby cathedral after the shooting and attempted to rely on the medieval doctrine of sanctuary, his position would be more tenable than the self-defense expansion he now seeks."

Somebody please tell your sister General Nikki X, "What in the hell is wrong with Cincinnati Bengal, Chris Henry?" I'm not very knowledgable about the ins and outs of professional football although I love to watch the game. I am a football watching sistah!

Today, I ask the question that's been swirling around in my head every since I first heard of Chris Henry's legal troubles beginning last year. All I thought regarding Chris Henry, before that, was he was/is a talented player with promise to go on to higher ground in the NFL, if he continued to do his thang.

I beleived he was (at least) a conscience brotha based on his locks (for those of you who don't know I mean, his strength, his glory, his mane, his hair) then I rolled over in bed, look up one morning and Oh Shit!!! The brotha done shaved his locks to the scalp and he's in hot water again! WTF??!!?

Of course, my first thoughts when I saw him outside with the red baseball hat on was "This just can't be true!" Then thinking later on standing in court with his lawyer, "His lawyers' got him doing a Kobe!" What the hell do you mean by that General? What I mean is (thanks for asking) when the whiteman was hell-bent on stroking basketball great, the blackman & subsequent black dummy, Kobe Bryant (and rightfully so, he should've left that white golddiggin' gal A-L-O-N-E!) The whiteman had Kobe shave his head close to look non-threatenin, non-menacing and non-boogeyman-ish when he stood before his jury of white peers, his white judge, and in front of the white media in that pure lily white state of Colorado courtroom. And only money (that funky green stuff) got his ass up outta that one and back home to his latino (or whatever) golddiggin' wifey.

Back to our brother, Chris Henry....

HENRY ENTERS PLEA
Charges stem from April incindent - By Jim Hannah - Enquirer Staff Writer

COVINGTON - Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry pleaded not guilty this morning to providing alcohol to three underage women at a hotel on Covington's riverfront. Yesterday marked the fourth time in six months Henry had been arrested. He was charged with three counts of unlawful transaction with a minor.

Henry 22, of Florence, was arraigned at 8:30 a.m. today in Kenton District Court. Kenton County Judge Douglas Grothaus ordered Henry, who has a drunk driving pending in Clermont County, to not drink any alcohol as a condition of his bond. Henry was also ordered to have no contact with minors. Prosecutor Ken Easterling said the case is still active and additional charges against Henry, and others present at the hotel, are possible.

Henry remains free on a $2,500 cash bond. A pretrial hearing is set for June 29 in Kenton Districat Court. He and his attorney, Bob Lotz, had no comment as they left the courtroom this morning. Henry also had no comment after he was released from the Kenton County jail Wednesday on bond. He faces up to a year in jail if convicted on all charges.

A criminal complaint states Henry provided alcohol to Monica Beamon, 18, of Jacob Price apartments, an an unidentified 15- and 16-year-old girls the night of April 29. It states the three women were in Henry's vehicle when he got alcohol for them knowing they were under 21. The next day, Beamon reported to police that Henry raped her at the Courtyard By Marriott at 500 W. Third St. Kenton Commonwealth's Attorney Bill Crocket said a police investigation concluded that Beamon consented to having "sexual contact" with Henry. Police then decided to charge Beamon with falsely reporting an incident, Crockett said.

Ten days later after the incident, Beamon was arrested by an undercover Covington police officer and charged with prositition. Because she had no prior record, Beamon was allowed to enter into diversion. The charge will be expunged if she sucessfully completes the program. When contacted by a reporter, Beamon said she was not aware that a warrant had been issued Wednesday for her arrest.

"Just because I didn't press charges against Henry it does not mean they have the right to accuse me of making this up," said Beamon. She then said she was getting an attorney.

"Sports figures are not above the law," said Ken Easterling, chief prosecutor for the Kenton County Attorney's Office. "Those who falsely claim sport figures committed a crime against them are also not above the law. We will prosecute this case to the fullest extent." Easterling said the case is still active and additional charges against Henry, and the others present at the hotel, are possible. The prosecutor said Henry hasn't been cooperating with his office.

The Bengals has their standard comment about Henry's latest alleged legal transgression.

"We don't comment on something when it's just in the stages of charges," Bengals public relations director Jack Brennan said.

In December, Henry was charged with marijuana possession in Covington. He pleaded guilty to the charges and, as part of a plea agreement, avoided jail time by entering a drug rehabilitation program.

In January, while in Orlando, Henry was arrested by Orange County police and charged with three gun-related offenses, two of which were dropped. He still faces an August court date in Orlando for illegal possession of a concealed weapon.

Then, on June 3, an Ohio Highway Patrol officer stopped Henry for speeding on Interstate 275 in Union Township, Clermont County. The Trooper smelled alcohol about Henry and his automobile, and after Henry was said to have failed field sobriety test, he was arrested and taken to the Milford Police Department. There he voluntarily submitted to a breath test and measured a 0.092; 0.08 is the legal limit in Ohio.

He faces another court date in Clermont Couty later this month.

The actual bodies of United States soldiers being shipped back from the war Iraq. Never to be televised on American Television by order of The President of the United States, George W. Bush.

I've never dealt with the war in Iraq on this blog. I've had various personal discussions about this subject with family, friends, associates, and from time to time over the years, even strangers about what I feel is an very very unjust and very very unnecessary war.

I beleive quite frankly George W. Bush is a complete idiot without the wherewithal nor the understanding of what he's actually done by sending folk to their death in the country of Iraq.

THE WAR IN IRAQ HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH 9/11. PERIOD.

I want to discuss this war with you, the readers of The Black Fist Blog. I truly want to know what you are thinking regarding the bloodshed and mayhem that's going on over there. And with the President's approval rating at (what has been called) an all-time historial low of 31%, do you beleive there will ever be a withdrawal of the troops any time soon?

WHOSE BURNING BODIES IN AVONDALE?

(Not the exact body found in Avondale on Thursday but you get the point) What in the devils going on in the neighborhood of Avondale? A burned beyond recognition body was found beside an abandoned apartment building on a dead end street Thursday morning. This makes the second burned body found on a dead end street in Avondale in a period of a month and a half. The first burned body was found in Avondale back in May. The body of 14 year old Consonya Sharee Crawford (see this: http://theblackfistblog.blogspot.com/2006/05/14-year-old-black-girl-found-burned-to.html) So the question becomes: Whose burning bodies in Avondale? This is what was released -via- the Cincinnati Enquirer Online edition, we just don't understand what's going on. Is this gang-related? A serial killer on the loose? A copy-cat murderer looking for attention? What? Read this and let us hear from you. PASSERBY FINDS BURNED BODY BY WILLIAM WEATHERS - ENQUIRER STAFF WRITER AVONDALE - A badly burned body was found beside an abandoned apartment building on a dead end street Thursday morning. "The body is burned beyond recognition," Cincinnati Police Chief Tom Streicher said. A passerby found the body in the 700 block of Wehrman Avenue about 10:45 a.m., Sreicher said. The body was found about 10 feet from the south side of the old, two story building. The building has been vacant about five years. The discovery is the second burned body found in five weeks in Avondale. Police found the body of Consonya "Sharee" Crawford, 14, on May 11 at a dead-end off Blair Avenue. Terry Daly, a spokesman for the Hamilton County Coroner's Office, said Thursday the Crawford autopsy was in progress with the case of death being listed only as "homicial violence." Efforts to determine the cause of death have been hampered by the body's condition, he said. News of the lastest discovery forced children inside at a nearby child-care program at Corinthian Baptist Church. "We don't know what's going on," said Pastor KZ Smith. "We want to make sure we keep them safe." Smith said some children found a bag of IDs for several women behind the church a few days ago. "We don't know if there is a connection between this (the discovery of the body) and the IDs," he said. ******Enquirer Story Ends There****** What are your thoughts on these two morbidly vile murders. All we can be sure of is that if the Cincinnati police don't catch the murdering bastard(s) soon, there could very well be a third, a fourth or a fifth burned body found again in Avondale or somewhere else for that matter. If you have any information on the burned body found on Thursday or any information regarding the Consonya Sharee Crawford case, please contact the police and report what you know. Sharee's family needs closure and the community at large is at risk, if the murderer(s) continue to roam and burn up folk at will. And we pray that this is the end. Cincinnati city candidate for city manager, Milton Dohoney & Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory

First and foremost, I'd like to thank everyone who stopped me, greeted me back, expressed warm wishes toward me, showed outward expressions of love, threw me the black fist and those of you who gave your most sincerest condolences, on my first day back to City Hall and Cincinnati City Council.
I appreciate all of you and as I walked into City Hall and the council chambers, I could'nt help but to stop, if just for a moment, to remember what was.....

THE DOHONEY INQUISITION

More of the same from power-hungry, arrogant, everybody fighting for control city council. I sat through the entire council meeting as they interrogated city manager candidate Milton Dohoney Jr. like he was applying for a position at the Pentagon.
The nerve of that council down there! All of them oozed with holier than thou-ism and most of them did their best to trick 'n' trap the man to (in my most humble opinion) no avail.

Council looked like the clowns!

I've stated in my last three blog entries on this subject, I have no intention of defending/speaking in behalf of Dohoney or defending Mayor Mallory's choice to bring the man in here for that matter. But come on, right is right & wrong is wrong. That whole hearing was nothing more than a weak blatant attempt to make Dohoney look like a fool whose not qualified for the position and the mayor, an incompetent idiot for choosing him in the first place, of course without the permission(s) of the great white city fathers and mothers!

If I decide to add more later, I will. But for right now, I really don't have anymore to blog about on this subject.

City Council put the man through the ringer today.

Here's the breakdown in a quick nutshell:

Jim Tarbell didn't even try to hide his disgust for the man.
Leslie Ghiz is just plain dizzy & dingy.
Cecil Thomas wants whatever Mark Mallory wants.
ChrisMonzel thought he was trying out for the Milton Berle Comedy Hour.
David Crowley questioned the man quick then split.
John Cranley cried the "we need the more police blues".
Chris Bortz did what Bortz does best look out for big business and downtown.
Jeff Berding played the role of the "I'm gonna make Mallory look like a clown & see Cincinnati I am mayoral material".
LaKeta Cole's tone was flat-out hostile, condesending, arrogant, rude and oh-so Alicia Reece-ish.

The mayor question Mr. Dohoney last and basically in a yes or no fashion got to the heart of the matter without all the in between bullshit.

A Final Note: I was around and attending city council meetings when no-good ex-mayor Charles "Charlie" John Luken brought ex-city manager Valerie Lemmie into town to appoint her Cincinnati city manager, and nobody but nobody second guessed his choice.....

"Why do you think that is?"

Now it appears Council member David Crowley will not be in attendance at today's Cincinnati City council meeting. Didn't Crowley know council was scheduled to interview City manager candidate Milton Dohoney? Yes, he did. We did.

There's some shit in the game. I say that based on my experience of going to city council for years. There's always some shit in tha game.

So what now? David Crowley comes back next week and says, " I can't vote on Mr. Dohoney because I didn't get a chance to interview him?"

Very Interesting. This story comes straight from the Cincinnati Enquirer Online edition. It looks like there's been some kind of "compromise" reached between the mayor, Mark Mallory and Cincinnati City Council regarding the issues of Milton Dohoney and his candidacy for Cincinnati city manager.

MALLORY AGREES TO WAIT A WEEK FOR DECISION ON CITY MANAGER: COMPROMISE SOUGHT AS COUNCIL INTERVIEWS DOHONEY TODAY

Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory will not ask City Council to vote on his nominee for city manager for at least a week. In what might be the most awkward job interview in the city's history, Milton Dohoney Jr. will appear before council today and answer questions from all nine council members - four of whom say the mayor has to bring at least two candidates to them for public interviews before asking for a vote.

That's not going to happen.

Mallory said he would most likely ask council to confirm Dohoney at the council meeting a week from today. "It seems appropriate to wait so they can digest what they hear," Mallory said Tuesday.

Dohoney, 50, is the top administrator in Lexington and, if confirmed by council, would become the city's 14th city manager. He would replace Valerie Lemmie, who resigned last fall. The extra time also would allow City Council and the mayor to continue negotiating potential compromises. Among the possibilities being discussed. Hiring Dohoney on an interim basis. That would allow council another vote after he's been on the job for a specific period of time.

Clarifying language in the charter so the process is clear for the next time a city manager is hired. Restructuring the contract Mallory negotiated with Dohoney with incentives so that council has more say over his performances.

"No city manager has ever been hired by a 5-4 vote," Council Member LaKeta Cole said. "That doesn't send a good message. We need a compromise."

Bortz and Berding said they're open to the idea of compromise, and the additional time will give those negotiations time to play out.

"I don't want to shut the door on any opportunity to reach a compromise," said Bortz.

Now, what are they really talking about here? I can give it to you in two words: Power & Control. Council members Leslie Ghiz, Jeff Berding, Chris Bortz and Mallory's own first draft pick, vice-mayor JimTarbell are seeking Power & Control. These individuals are looking to undermine Mallory at every turn. Jim Tarbell is term-limited. And thank God for that. Ghiz, Berding and Bortz are up for re-election next November 2007, and a possible run for the Mayorship in 2009. These are slippery charactors but then again as it appears, so is Mayor Mark Mallory.

As I stated before Mark Mallory has been very disappointing as of late. This council made up of: Cecil Thomas, Jeff Berding, Leslie Ghiz, Chris Monzel, Jim Tarbell, LaKeta Cole, Chris Bortz, John Cranley and David Crowley are not a council of doing what's in the best interest of the black community -NO- They are a council made up of me, me, me, I, I, I. And we can see this just from the last few issues to come before them such as: The Banks Working Group selection(s), The Panhandling Law, 3CDC and etc. There is a former council member, Christopher Smitherman, whom I understands replays City council audiotapes on his weekly radio show "exposing" council for their mishandling of so-called city issues and violations against the black community via tax payer dollars. Well that's all nice & good but it would be even better as a now private citizen for Christopher Smitherman to go down to council, as The Black Fist and other activist as well as regular citizens have done and fill out the little yellow card, sit down, wait to be called and speak before council a.k.a. tell the devil to his face what he [Smitherman] feels and speaks about weekly on the radio. I understand he [Smitherman] plays audiotapes of the late Kabaka Oba speaking before city council and hailing him as a hero for doing so. If that be the case then why doesn't former council person Smitherman do the same thing?

As far as Milton Dohoney goes I've heard he was a sellout in the place where he's from and not one to speak out against racial injustice against blacks whatsoever. Our dear brother, Bro. Endure X went to Kentucky with other activist (myself & The Black Fist not included) and did battle on the ground on behalf of black folk who were suffering under the scrouge of racial profiling, racial injustices and police brutality. I will do my best to contact Bro. X and ask him as one of our contributing writers to lay it all out about Mr. Dohoney, he can most certainly tell you better than I can. He touched upon it this past week on 88.3 FM WAIF.

I only speak upon what I know as fact and anything other than that I will conclude publicly as my opinion.

The Black Fist will be watching this one very closely, not so much as to whether Dohoney is confirmed or not but to watch the interactions of council on this matter and the tone as well as the potential undermining of Mallory's so-called "authority as Strong Mayor".

I'll tell you, I've always stated that the vice-president of the United States of America, Slick Dick Cheney probably doesn't always agree with everything President George W. Bush has to say and probably doesn't agree with some of his policies, one of noteworthiness as of late; The gay/lesbian issue. But I've never heard 'ol slick Dick come out in the media and publicly blast the man who appointed him. Publicly ripping 'ol G Dub to shreds. Naw, slick tricky Dick plays his cards close to the vest and rolls with it, so to speak. With the gay/lesbian issue he even agreed with Bush's commentary/policy AGAINST gay marriage knowing full and damn well his [Cheney's] own daughter is an out of the closet lesbian who may want to marry her own "partner" one fine day.

Another example: As in the case of The Black Fist, if a Black Fist member has a Head of Security (General Nikki X) and she tells one of her members (General Kabaka Oba) it's time to vacate a particular location due to our protest being over at 6:00 P.M. and that particular General refuses to vacate due to his own arrogance & ego and is subsequently arrested at 6:29 P.M. for so-called threatening a police officer (Cincinnati police Lt. Jeff Butler), then whose fault is it? The Head of Security in Charge of Security -OR- The egotisical head-headed General that nobody (General Nikki X) doesn't tell what to do? I beleive we all know the answer to that one, don't we? George W. Bush may not like or even agree with his secret service but when they tell his ass to duck -or- dip, what do you think G Dub does? You guessed it, He ducks -and- He dips! NO QUESTION ASKED!

Jim Tarbell, vice-mayor of Cincinnati appointed by Mayor Mark Mallory should take a page out of slick Dick's book and shut the hell up -OR- Mayor Mark Mallory needs to man-up fast and boot his ass out of that vice-mayorship ASAP!

Missing woman Tanika Lawson

Police are searching for this missing woman and her two young children who may be in danger. Tanika Lawson, 31, her daughter Malike, 9, and her son Mateo, 8, were last seen getting into a cab in Avondale June 3rd. According to police, Lawson has mental issues and has threatened to harm herself and her children in the past. Lawson's mother told Local 12 news Friday night, Lawson has a delusion that she's married to Georgia-based Televangelist Bishop Eddie Long, and wants to reunite with him. Lawson called her mother Wednesday saying she was in Atlanta, but did not give a specific address. We sent pictures of Lawson and her children to our affliate (news) station in Atlanta Friday night. They tell us that so far police don't have any leads on them. Lawson's mother says this is not the first time her daugther has done something like this. She says Lawson went to Dallas a couple of years ago believing she had a husband there. Police were able to find her and get her home. If anyone out there has seen Ms. Tanika Lawson, please call crimestoppers at (513) 352-3040. This woman needs serious mental help and we hope that she and her children are found safe and sound. There are so many people running around in the black community who need serious psychiatric help it's no laughing matter. Let's have compassion and do what we can to get those we know in the black community the proper mental help they so desperately deserve. Bipolar Disorder and other serious mental health issues can become life threatening to the person suffering from this mind-numbing illness, life threatening to the children of those suffering from mental illness and the people in the communities for which they live, work, socialize and dwell. Mental Illness/Bipolar Disorder is nothing to be ashamed of. The first step to getting help is admiting there is a problem. The second step is doing sometime about the problem. As in the case of Tanika Lawson, it would appear her mother knew of her daughter's mental illness for a very very long time. What she did or did not do about it is unknown. There are other black mothers right here in Cincinnati who KNOW for a fact their daughter(s) have a several bipolar disorder/several mental illness. As in a specific case I know of /have been the victim of personally, that black mother chooses to look the other way as her daughter physically attacked me and suffered a very public emotional breakdown right before her eyes, which can not be in any way healthy for her mentally deranged daughter. And not in any way, shape, form or fashion emotional healthy for the mother. Once again, I showed compassion to the bipolar ridden woman and walked away but was completely disgusted by the mother of the woman to have egged her daughter on which could've resulted in her daughter being knocked flat on her ass, by someone less compassionate than myself. Nevertheless...... All we can do here is put out the information as it comes in and inform the community at large. We'll pray for Tanika and her children. BLACK POWER!
