THE LATEST SHOCKING NEWS ON TASERS! As alot of you out there already know The Black Fist has been calling for the last 3 years an official ban on the newest deadly weapon used around the country by law enforcement agencies including the Cincinnati Police Department called Tasers X26. (Please go back and review that entry, you can find it in the archives of this blog) Where I lambasted and blasted the use of tasers and spoke out against its overuse on black people in this city, which we feel contributed to the deaths of some of our black people that that "machine" was used upon. We will continue to speak out against these deadly "portable electric chairs" for as long as they are used and abuse by the Cincinnati police and are contributing factors in the DEATHS of our people. The subject of this entry is startling and quite frankly downright unbeleivable. It would appeared based on this article written by Amanda Lee Myers of The Associated Press that the devils who created the Taser are now in the process of manufactoring a newer and more deadlier version of this "portable electric chair".....Read what this wicked diabolical devil is up to now and beleive me you will be shocked: TASER COMPANY PLANS SHOCKING SHOTGUN SHELLS Phoenix - The nation's largest stun-gun manufacturer is working on a new way to deliver electricity to the human body: through 12-gauge shotgun shells. Though it's still being devolped, Taser International Inc. says the new product would allow police officers and U.S. troops to hit someone from a much greater distance than its current line of Tasers, which Amnesty International has cited in more than 120 deaths. The eXtended Range Electro-Muscular Projectile, or XREP, would be a shotgun shell designed to combine the blunt-force trauma of a fast-moving baseball with the electrical current of a stun-gun. "It will truly cause incapacitation," company spokesman Steve Tuttle said. Taser hopes to release the product in 2007. The Office of Naval Research funded the approximately $500,000 it took to develop the shot-gun shells, Tuttle said. Tasers shoot two darts that deliver 50,000-volts to the human body using a special electrical wave form that overwhelms the nervous system and temporarily paralyzes people. But the weapons, considered by the company reach 100 feet, though the military has challenged the company to extend the range to 330 feet, the company said. "It's going to give you a pretty good thump when it hits," said Taser president Tom Smith, "but our design goal is to make it safe even at the muzzle." When deployed, a round would hit a target, latch on and deliver an incapacitating jolt of electricity. Smith said company engineers were still working on how the shell would latch on to suspects - but noted that the shells would have the same incapacitating effect as traditional Tasers because they would use the same electrical wave form. By contrast, the Taser XREP shotgun shell would be considered a higher-level use of force because of the physical impact of the shells. Already, the product is drawing criticism from human rights organizations, who have accused law-enforcement agencies of using the existing Tasers when more humane options are available. Amnesty International has called for independant studies on their safety. "Amnesty's concern with this product would be similiar to those with Tasers," said spokesperson Edward Jackson. "Where is the independant comprehensive medical testing? In the absence of that testing, we run the risk of turning private citizens into guinea pigs." According to Amnesty International's count, more than 120 people shocked with a Taser have died shortly afterward in the United States and Canada. Taser denies that its products are solely to blame in any deaths, arguing that drugs, health conditions or other factors - not the electrical shock - have been the cause. The company also contends Tasers have saved the lives of thousands of suspects who might otherwise have been shot by police. The story from The Associated Press ends here. I mean seriously, how freakin' dumb do these people think the public at large really is? If you have 50,000 volts killing folks primarily BLACK folks right now then how the hell can they expect Amnesty International, several different Human Rights Organizations and The Black Fist Organization to beleive this new "toy" called XREP that cost a cool quarter of a million dollars and expected to deliver an extremely higher voltage is any safer than the original? According to Amnesty Internationals reports, there have been more than 120 Taser related deaths in The U.S. and Canada since 2001, the numbers look like this: 3 deaths in 2001, 13 deaths in 2002, 20 deaths in 2003 and 53 deaths in 2004! (source: Amnesty International) So I say to you once again-- The Black Fist Organization is calling for a complete ban on these deadly "portable electric chairs" by the Cincinnati Police Department until further studies are done and we have proof of its safety. We understand, based on historical fact, that anytime the Cincinnati Police Dept. uses force on black people it is 9 out of 10 times deadly force. Cincinnati City Council voted that children between the ages of 7 and 11 years old can be tased in the City of Cincinnati.
