FRIDAY FLASHBACK TO THE PAST 26

Greetings Brothers! Greetings Sisters!

Today is Friday so you already know what's up! It's Friday Flashback To The Past 26!

Today's flashback to the past comes straight from one of our true & faithful viewers. Today's musical request comes straight from our email bag and straight from our beautiful dear brother Trey X. Yes, Bro. Trey X, a frequent commenter
here on The Black Fist Blog and a dedicated Black Man toward the liberation and salvation of the black nation!

Bro. Trey X has requested two songs and I have obliged him. Bro. Trey X in his email said in part, ".... I was driving down the street and this song popped into my head and I got to thinking about .... some things .... so I thought I'd email it in for a Friday Flashback request ...."

Well Bro. Trey X my brotha whatever it was you were "thinking" about, here is your song request plus the other song you requested earlier in that same week. I decided to put them both together, along with a little background information
on both artist.

Just for you ;-()

Tower of Power
(or TOP for short) is an American R&B-based horn section and band, originating in Oakland, California, that has been performing for over 43 years.[1] They are best known for their funky soul sound highlighted by a powerful horn section. There have been several lead vocalists, the most famous being Lenny Williams, who fronted the band between early 1973 and late 1974, the period of their greatest commercial success. Their biggest hits include "You're Still A Young Man", "So Very Hard To Go", "What Is Hip?", and "Don't Change Horses (In the Middle of a Stream)."

Lenny Williams
(born Leonard Charles Williams on February 6, 1945, in Little Rock, Arkansas) was the lead vocalist for Tower of Power from 1972–1974 and appeared on three of the group's most commercially successful albums: Tower Of Power, Back To Oakland, and Urban Renewal. Williams left the group to pursue a solo career and made several hit recordings, including “Cause I Love You” and "Choosing You."

Now y'all know both of those songs brought back sweet memories say it didn't lol!
We would like to thank Bro. Trey X once again for taking the time to send me his email musical request. I enjoyed your email Bro. Trey and I love both of those songs just as much as you do my brotha!

And if any of you out there our most faithful viewers would like to have your favorite song or songs featured here on our Friday Flashback To The Past series please send me your email at: askgeneralnikkix@yahoo.com
