Greetings Faithful Readers of The Black Fist Blog!
Preface: We here at The Black Fist Blog believe that based on the racial hatred, lynchings, Jim Crow, discrimination, 400 years of chattel slavery, flatout wicked evilness and murderous savage brutality of the whiteman, and unequal everything here in this good ol' U.S.of A. that was stolen from the Red Man that no black man or black woman should ever militarily serve this so-called land of the "free" and home of the so-called "brave" country called AmeriKKKa.
In leiu of this so-called holiday called "Memorial Day", we bring to you a piece of black history that you may not have known. Although the members of The Black Fist Organization do not believe in negroes fighting in any branch of military service other than "The Black Liberation Army for Self-Defense and Preseveration" we do understand that since the beginning of bloodshed and murder in this country and abroad black men and women have served this whiteman's army faithfully loyally ... and served him well.
Check out this little known black history fact that the whiteman sure wasn't breaking his neck to teach you in his little lily white biased "halls of education", called public schools.
Epilogue: For those black men and women who have served in the past: We say you can't change what has been done. You did what you did despite the fact the whiteman hated your guts before you put on the uniform and didn't really want you there in the first place.
To the black men and women who are currently enlisted: Pray you come out in one piece to have a job, some benefits, and some racial equality and rights when you get "home". You really should have learned from the past in the way your fellow negro servicemen were treated in the military and especially when they got "home", but you didn't so there you go.
There are black men and women right now serving in Iraq and Afganistan getting all kinds of limbs blown off just to come home to "exist" on the government food stamp program and live in lower development homes (projects & slums) because "their" presidential administration (past & present) has given them the shaft, and quite frankly has forgotten all about them.
And those are the ones who haven't lost their sanity due to PTSD (Post-Tramatic Stress Disorder), committed suicide, or tried to kill someone else.
Word of Advice: Let this whiteman fight for his own stolen land, and let the black man keep his eye on the prize! Which is equal treatment in this land free of police brutality, racial hatred, low wage employment (or no employment at all), poor public schools, black poverty & destitution, poor housing, and extremely unequal ecomonic disparity.
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY NEGRO!
Did You Know Memorial Day Was Started by Ex-Slaves?
May 27, 2013
One of the things that most black people know is that the public school system does a horrible job teaching black history. They will gladly tell you all the wonderful things that white people did and maybe even go back to Europe, but the contributions of African Americans are kept entirely on the backburner.
A fact that you should probably know is that African Americans are the reason that Memorial Day even exists in the first place. According to Professor David Blight of Yale University, the event began on May 1, 1865. A group of former slaves in Charleston, SC gave a proper burial to 257 Union soldiers who’d been put into a mass grave.
The black community of Charleston then consecrated the new cemetary with “an unforgettable parade of 10,000 people.” The event was initially called “Decoration Day” and was led by 3,000 black school children who started off by singing the song “John Brown’s Body.” They were then followed by hundreds of black women with baskets of flowers and crosses. After that, black men marched behind them in cadence, followed by Union infantry.
The Union soldiers lived in horrible conditions, and 257 of them died from exposure and disease. This was the reason for the creation of the mass grave site. A total of 28 black men went to the site an re-buried the men properly, largely as a thank you for helping fight for their freedom.
They also built a fence around the cemetary, and on the outside, put the words, “Martyrs of the Race Course.”
Now you know the rest of the story. Go tell this one to everyone you know.
