The Roots are what one would call "Black Conscience Positive" rappers. This song called "You Got Me" was on my mind for whatever reason this morning so I decided to take y'all back in the day (actually this song was released just a couple of years ago) for this very smooth joint. Sister Erykah Badu was on the original CD track and sister Jill Scott performed it live in concert with The Roots during their tour. Featured here in this video is The Roots background sister doing the (Badu/Scott) vocals. Still sounds on point no doubt. Black Power! Enjoy!
