An Avondale mother and her two children, missing since June 3, have been located in Los Angeles, Cincinnati police said Thursday. Police said the three are safe. Police were notified Wednesday that Tanika Lawson, 31, and her 9-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son had been staying at a shelter in Los Angeles. Lawson was taken into custody by Los Angeles authorities for a psychiatric evaluation. The two children have been placed with a children's service agency pending their release to relatives. The children's grandmother plans to travel to Los Angeles. Lawson - who relatives said had not been taking her medication - and her children were last seen June 3 getting into a taxicab at their Clinton Springs Avenue apartment, police said. Let's all pray Ms. Lawson gets the much needed psychiatric help she's so badly in need of, that she can come back to full mental compacity and regain custody her children. Yes, we'll pray for that. |
