FINALLY THE AMBER ALERT IS USED IN BLACK CHILD KIDNAPPING CASE!

SUV STOLEN WITH BLACK CHILDREN INSIDE

Police said they have quickly found two children that were in an SUV when it was stolen in North Fairmount Thursday afternoon and promptly arrested a suspect as well.

According to police, a woman reported that her ex-boyfriend assaulted her, stole her silver '98 Navigator which contained her 2-year-old and 3-year-old sons on Knob Court.

Police said the suspect, Lonnie Webster, 23, initially made threats against the children but took them to his grandmother's house and dropped them off before police arrived to retrieve them.

The Navigator was discovered in Pleasant Ridge, and Webster was located and surrounded by police in an apartment in the 5800 block of Ridge Rd.

Police took Webster into custody without incident and also arrested two female occupants in the same apartment as well. Police have not indicated charges against the women.

The children have since been reunited with their mother.

*******THAT STORY WAS BROUGHT TO US BY WCPO CHANNEL 9 ONLINE********

I recently wrote an entry about the case of the 14 year old black girl named Consonya "Sharee" Crawford who was reported missing by her grandmother, Ms. Patricia Crawford back on May 2, 2006., and was found some 8 days later burned to death with a tire around her neck, no shoes on her feet and dumped like trash in a park in the neighborhood of Avondale. Please see this to refresh your memory if need be: http://theblackfistblog.blogspot.com/2006/05/14-year-old-black-girl-found-burned-to.html I was highly concerned about the non deployment of the Amber Alert and boldly asked the question was it based on race.

There was no Amber Alert sounded for Consonya "Sharee" Crawford, the black girl. When there are so many Amber Alert sounded whenever there is a white child missing. Even if it is well-known the white child ran away with her boyfriend, lied to authorities about being abducted and etc. Regardless, if the child is white, the Amber Alert is ALERTED!

I stand by what I wrote back in May. I am still concerned about the deployment or lack there of, of the Amber Alert. I still raise these questions today and base my concerns solely on these well-known racial disparitities.

In any event, I am so happy the Amber Alert was deployed in this case. I am so happy those two little brothers were found safe and sound and are now back home with their mother.

BLACK POWER!!!

That was so staged that I was surprised writer and director credits didn't roll. Ever since there was so much criticism after the body of the girl was found, burned, that the CPD doesn't care about black children, they've been itching to have a test case to show that's not true and yesterday they hit pay dirt. There were so many camera shots of the cops hugging the kids and delivering them that it was nauseating. The cops mugging for the cameras with concerned, compassionate looks pasted on their faces. I began to wonder if these kids were even kidnapped or if the guy actually said he was going to hurt them. I never saw the mother speak, or cry on camera, "oh, my babies, find my babies." One staged Amber alert doesn't convince me of the sincerity of the CPD. And by the way, any news on the young girl that was murdered and burned? I haven't seen a word of follow-up.

I'm happy the children were returned safely but I have one issue with this case. Why if she (the mother) is residing in subsidized housing is she driving around in a Lincoln Navigator? Yes, she has the right to do whatever she likes. But as a taxpayer, a parent, and just someone who is concerned. Why not take the money spent on that vehicle and get her and her kids in non-subsidized housing? We (my husband and myself) have always made sacrifices in order to have our children in the best environments we could provide and if that meant not spending our money on non-appreciable goods such as cars, clothing, and jewelry that's what we did. It would be nice if all tax dollars were divided up fairly and equally amongst all schools but unfortunately that is not the case so we as parents must do what is right by our children and make better decisions for their future. Driving around trying to impress a bunch of strangers and then pulling up to your taxpayer subsidized housing is not very wise. And I did see the mother briefly on a newscast she had her kids after they were returned to her and she was darting inside of an apartment...possibly wondering when she's going to receive her letter from her caseworker about her family's financial situation being reviewed? Which it will be and should be.
