WHAT'S REALLY WRONG WITH LIONEL TATE?

Young Lionel Tate (then) at the age of 12

What in the sam hills wrong with Lionel Tate?

If you can remember, he was the 12 year old Florida youth who accidently killed his 6 year old playmate by body slamming her as he'd seen done watching wrestling shows on television. At 14, he was the youngest person to ever receive a term of life in prison. He served time in an adult prison for that accident. That was back in 1999. His conviction was overturned in 2004 through the court of appeals, and Tate struck a deal, pleading guilty to second-degree murder. That's when he got the 10 year probation.

Tate violated that parole last year by being in possession of a gun. He has also been charged with robbery.

In 2006, Lionel Tate has been sentenced to 30 years in prison. Lionel Tate is 19 years old.

Later I will attempt to bring you what I beleive is part of Lionel's problem. After I read about this story I felt compelled to bring it to you and look a little deeper into what's really wrong with Lionel Tate.

I'll tell you upfront what I think is wrong with Lionel Tate......

HIS MOTHER.

THE REST OF THE STORY LATER.....STAY TUNED. YOU DON'T WANNA MISS THIS!

Here's what's wrong with Lionel. First he shouldn't have been charged as an adult. But because he was, a fantastic, false defense had to be concocted in order to defend him. He was a child eaten up with violence. Had that been dealt with instead of lying and saying it was a "wrestling accident" he might have been saved. The wrestling defense didn't emerge until several months after his arrest. When questioned about who his favorite wrestler was, he couldn't even name a wrestler because he wasn't into wrestling. That defense was made up. It was understandable that some kind of defense had to be put forth but the "accident" defense did him no favors. He was a child consumed with fury. Kids as young as 10 years old babysit and take care of their brothers and sisters. By 12 any kid that is not retarded, knows that throwing and stomping someone else can kill them. Had his anger been recognized and dealt with early on, he wouldn't be in the sad situation he's in today.

"Defense attorney H. Dohn Williams said he did not understand why Tate would want to go to trial on the robbery charge, given that a conviction could bring a life sentence in addition to the 30 years for the probation violation.

"He continues to get bad advice from meddling third parties," Williams said outside court.

Williams said Tate's mother, Florida Highway Patrol trooper Kathleen Grossett-Tate, told him he could win an appeal on the probation violation conviction, win his robbery case and leave jail in a year. She left court without commenting." (CBS NEWS 5/18/06)

We already know the entire story. His Mommy deserves to lose her job & spend a little time in the joint. A parent that far in denial & lacking common sense, along with parenting skills doesn't deserve to be fed.

Tate is where he belongs - the Graybar Residence Facility - & he will stay there. One gets plenty sick of hearing clueless parents claim, "product of the environment we live in today". Who's helping to create this so-called environment?

In any case, it's another day & another vicious loser off the streets & out of society. Good riddance!

Lionel was abused himself since the age of six. He was shuffled around from this relative to that relative because Kathleen was too busy with her careers to take care of him.He was unloved and unwanted, beaten and verbally abused regularly.
In spite of all of his hardships, Lionel is a young man who is quite loving, and desperate for love and acceptance. He yearns for friends, and that is another reason why he is where he is today. His "friend", Willie, was the person who held up the pizza deliveryman. This is known by all of the players in the courtroom game, yet they have no interest in trying or convicting Willie. They wanted Lionel, and they manufactured enough evidence to get him through coercion and threats against the witnesses to the crime. Even the victim did not identify Lionel as the perpetrator. He could not, all he saw was burgundy shorts, the robber wore a mask, which was found,(the DNA on it, and the shorts, failed to prove that Lionel did it!)If we were able to obtain a decent attorney who is not afraid to take on the corruption in this case, the public would be disgusted and shocked to find out that the case against Lionel is garbage. They even went as far as to publicly and falsely discredit the private investigator who uncovered exculpatory evidence clearing Lionel in the pizza robbery.
